One Year Anniversary!

On Monday, we celebrated our 1st year anniversary! It's amazing to us how quickly this past year has flown by. We've had sooo much fun and we're so excited to start Year 2!

To celebrate Year 1, we went up to NJ/NYC last weekend. Our cousins, Debbie & Chris, in NJ threw us an anniversary party and we pulled out our one year old cake. It was actually still moist and delicious! (but then again, the chef/our cousin knew how to store it properly) We love our family! We had some good friends/former wedding guests join us from NJ and NYC too. It was a great party!

On Sunday/Monday, we went up to NYC and saw two broadway shows (Boeing Boeing and Equus). We also had dinner at Gordon Ramsey's 'The London' restaurant....and lunch at Central Park's Boat House. We had such a great time. The London was such a fun splurge! Neither one of us had ever eaten at such a nice restaurant before.

We finished out our anniversary week with tickets to the Navy/Rutgers game! Go Navy! We love living in Annapolis. It's such a fun town...and so close to NYC.

Democratic National Convention

I'm so proud of my husband! Travis just spent the past 10 days covering the Democratic National Convention in Denver. His company, Tribune Broadcasting, sent him there last Wednesday and he just got home last night. He did a great job and I was sooo proud! He said the speeches were exciting to watch in person. FOX News -may- be sending me to report at the Republican National Convention so I could be gone all next week. I'll find out by Sunday if I'll be going. If I'm there, we'll add more pictures to the blog, but for now, I'll just attach the one of Travis at the DNC.

Greece Pictures

We're a little late in posting these, but I know many of you have asked to see our pictures from Greece. We took a 2-week long Mediterranean cruise in April/May that went to 3 continents and 5 countries.

Many of Mindy's relatives were onboard too so we had a group of 20+ in all. The trip also kicked off just 2 days after Mindy's 30th bday so it was an incredible birthday present for her

We went to Rome, Italy....Mykonos, Greece....Ephesus, Turkey....Rhodes, Greece...Limmasol, Cyprus....Alexandria, Egypt....Athens, Greece....Naples, Italy!

Our favorite stops were definitely Egypt and Athens. In Egypt, we toured Cairo and the ancient pyramids of Giza! And in Athens, we hiked up to the Acropolis and Parthenon!

What an amazing trip! It was definitely a 2nd honeymoon for us. We want to go back. Our only regret???? Not buying a turkish rug!!! They were amazing.

We're Back!

Ok, ok....so apparently, we're not the best bloggers! I created this gmail account Blog several MONTHS ago and am still having problems finding time to get on here to update our site.

But I'm going to TRY and give it another shot!

So here we go........

I'll start with just a few pictures of our recent trip to Virginia Beach, VA for a Trace Adkins concert at the naval base! We stayed down there 2 nights, ate at fun restaurants and enjoyed the beach. The concert was awesome too! We even toured the Norfolk Naval Base where Travis used to board the aircraft carriers when he was in the Navy!

And if you didn't know---this trip was on the heels of my week-long coverage of Hurricane Dolly down in South Padre Island. FOX News sent me down to Texas suddenly on Monday and we were there till Friday. What a long week!

Travis doesn't have a clue how to work this blog so I'll likely be the one updating it. But he's doing well! We're praying he gets a new job soon though. The 3am-noon shift is starting to get him burned out.

Little weekened getaways definitely help both of us relax!

Introduction

Hello friends & family!

Welcome to our new "Travis and Mindy" Galey blog. We plan on using this site to share the latest with what's going on in our lives, especially new pictures as we get them!

Several of our friends use blogs regularly and it's been a great way for us to catch up so we finally decided to give it a shot and get a blog ourselves.

Next month, many of you know we're going on a 12-day cruise through much of Greece. We'll be sure to update this site with many, many pictures.
